1. TEDx is a 100% volunteer run event, including all planning team members and speakers.

2. The TEDx planning team is comprised of people from Taiwan, Ghana, Slovakia, Tanzania, and the United States.

3. Velocity, the theme of this year’s TEDx, was inspired by You Shall Know Our Velocity!, a novel by Dave Eggers.

4. One of the presenters for this year’s event will also be performing at Super Bowl 2013.

5. TEDxConcordiaUPortland (now known as TEDxMtHood) is Oregon’s longest running TEDx event.

6. Videos from TEDxConcordiaUPortland (now known as TEDxMtHood) 2012 have been viewed over 1,000,000 times (that’s like every person in Portland watching one of our videos twice).

7. Planning this TEDx event is a year long process.

8. TEDx Adventures is a new program we’ve developed to bring community members together through out the year. Upcoming adventures include a coffee roasting class, improv performance workshop, and a tiny home tour.

9. Joe Smith’s presentation from TEDxConcordiaUPortland (now known as TEDxMtHood) 2012 on “How To Use One Paper Towel” is the 8th most popular TEDx Video of all time.

10. TEDxConcordiaUPortland (now known as TEDxMtHood) 2012 sold out in 2 weeks. Tickets for TEDxConcordiaUPortland (now known as TEDxMtHood) 2013 go on sale January 30th.
