Principal Dean is an analog-obsessed, melodically rich producer weaned during the peak of the MPC-era and inspired by a unique combination of soul music, found sounds and the urban continuum that led us to Juke and Trap. Unhindered by scene politics or overburdened by fleeting trends, his music rests beyond categorization while staying curiously relevant. After producing soul-laden Hip Hop beats for years, most notably for Maine rapper Spose, Principal Dean found an inspirational gold mine in both the evolving underground club scene of North America and the experimental downtempo fueled by the internet. The creative freedom this espoused tore down the limiting conventions he grew up with and allowed him to develop an evolving signature sound that refuses to be static.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxMtHood, where x=independently organized TED event.
At our TEDxMtHood event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized. Visit TED.com to learn more.
